My Medical Mission to Puerto Rico

On September 20, 2017, Hurricane Maria tore through Puerto Rico with winds of up to 155 mph and torrential rain that caused severe flooding. The island was declared a “major disaster zone” by the White House with widespread damage to homes and businesses and devastation to the power grid. The destruction was unprecedented and there was an emergent need for a range of health services, hygiene promotion, and psychological support. Hearing the constant news about the damage was very disturbing to me because Puerto Rico is my homeland and many of my relatives still live there.

Atrius Health Supports the Boston Heart Walk

Hundreds of employees from Atrius Health participated in the Boston Heart Walk this past Saturday, September 12 at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. This marked the ninth year in a row our staff and their families, friends and even their dogs teamed up to raise funds to support the lifesaving research, education and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association. The Atrius Health team has raised more than $800,000 for the Boston Heart Walk over the past 9 years.

VNA Care Network & Hospice Hosts Briefing for Worcester Delegation

VNA Care Network & Hospice (VNACN) recently held a briefing for members of the Worcester delegation at the Worcester headquarters.  The purpose of the briefing was to introduce members of the delegation to both VNACN as well as Atrius Health.  In particular, the purpose of the meeting was to familiarize members about both groups as employers and as health care providers, offering home care, hospice care as well as primary care to many vulnerable patients living in Worcester and throughout Massachusetts.
