Patient Alert: Harvard Vanguard-Medford Practice Closing Early on June 12th

On Friday, June 12, 2020, there will be a demonstration march for Black Lives Matter beginning at Medford City Hall at 2:00pm. The Medford Police Department has indicated that there will likely be street closures in the area. Given the Medford practice’s close proximity to City Hall and the probable traffic impact this demonstration will have in the area, we plan to close the Medford practice and the parking garage beginning at 1:00pm. Security staff will allow patients to exit the building and the parking garage after 1:00pm but will not allow anyone to enter.

Support Atrius Health on #GivingTuesdayNow

GivingTuesday, the groundbreaking global generosity movement, announced #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5, 2020, as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and non-profits around the world.

On this #GivingTuesdayNow, we would be grateful if you would consider donating personal protective equipment (PPE) or making a monetary donation to the Atrius Health Foundation in honor of all of the Atrius Health medical staff (or in honor of a particular clinician or staff member) who have been working tirelessly to provide care to our patients.

Springtime in New England: Get Out There!

Although the thermometer may not be fully cooperating quite yet, according to the calendar, at least, it’s spring! While we may still experience some days when there’s a chill in air, warmer weather is just around the corner. The conversations around Atrius Health seem to reflect common springtime themes: relief that the snow is gone, March Madness and baseball (a given), and more and more plans to “get outside and do something.”

If we feel that way,

Atrius Health Celebrates Pride Month

Pride Month 2018 was truly a celebration, not just in Boston, but in Quincy as well. James P. Hahn, O.D., Ph.D., of our visual services department was a key member of the newly formed Quincy Pride Committee along with Quincy Councilor-At-Large Anne Mahoney. The Quincy Pride Committee proudly hosted the very first LGBTQ+ Pride event in Quincy, called Q Pride, on June 3rd. To commemorate the event, Governor Charlie Baker read an Official Proclamation declaring the day Q Pride Day.

Some of our practice locations offer informal, informative “Meet the Pediatrician” sessions, where expectant parents can meet one of our pediatricians who is accepting new patients and ask questions either about our practice or about caring for your baby. We invite all expectant parents to attend one of these sessions.

See below for upcoming dates, times and locations.  Three of our pediatricians are hosting a June session, and we have several other sessions planned between now and November.
