July 4th Holiday Notice

On Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th, Atrius Health medical practices will be closed for the July 4th holiday except for those practices listed below, which are open for pre-scheduled urgent care appointments. Practices which are typically open for urgent care appointments on Sundays will operate on their regular Sunday schedule for July 5th.

Patient Alert: Harvard Vanguard-Medford Practice Closing Early on June 12th

On Friday, June 12, 2020, there will be a demonstration march for Black Lives Matter beginning at Medford City Hall at 2:00pm. The Medford Police Department has indicated that there will likely be street closures in the area. Given the Medford practice’s close proximity to City Hall and the probable traffic impact this demonstration will have in the area, we plan to close the Medford practice and the parking garage beginning at 1:00pm. Security staff will allow patients to exit the building and the parking garage after 1:00pm but will not allow anyone to enter.

Patient Alert: Harvard Vanguard-Quincy Practice Closing Early

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Quincy residents are holding a Black Lives Matter Vigil in front of Quincy Town Hall beginning at 6:00pm. The Quincy Police Department will be closing Hancock Street in the downtown area at 5:00pm, and as such, President’s Place, the office complex where our Harvard Vanguard – Quincy practice is located, is also closing the building and parking garage beginning at 5:00pm. Avoiding Unproven and Unsafe Remedies for COVID-19

Much is unknown about the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19, including whether any existing medications will successfully prevent and treat infections caused by it. You may have heard speculation and even endorsement in the news of specific medications. The truth is that no clinical trials have yet proven any medication to be effective, and many trials are now underway. Some limited information is also available from drugs tried in COVID-19 infected patients, but these studies did not include a control group of equivalent patients who did not receive the drug making it impossible to compare and tell if the treatment was truly effective.
