Kathy Keough, Director of Government Relations at Atrius Health, participated in the American Medical Group Association’s (AMGA) annual Capitol Hill Day event in Washington, DC on June 1st and 2nd. More than 50 representatives of medical groups from across the country gathered at this annual event to advocate for issues of importance to medical groups and health systems.
Meetings were held with key healthcare staff from several members of the Massachusetts Congressional delegation including: Senator Edward Markey and Senator Elizabeth Warren as well as Representative Joseph Kennedy and Katherine Clark.
“AMGA’s annual Capitol Hill Day event was a terrific opportunity to educate members of Congress as well as their staff about the important work that Atrius Health is doing to improve the lives and health of our patients each day,” said Ms. Keough. “It is so important to meet with Congressional leaders and be able to discuss the vital role that Atrius Health plays as a leading provider of primary care, home care and hospice in Massachusetts.”

In addition to participating in one-on-one meetings, Ms. Keough attended the Government Relations Leadership Council, on which she serves as a member. The meeting was held to discuss regulatory and legislative issues facing medical groups, and included an in-depth analysis of the King v. Burwell decision being considered by the Supreme Court as well as a panel discussion with key Capitol Hill staff.
