Department of Transportation (DOT) CDL Physical Exams

Truck DriverAs of May 21, 2014, all commercial drivers are required to have a physical exam performed by a Department of Transportation (DOT) Certified Medical Examiner. A routine physical performed by your primary care provider is no longer acceptable to meet DOT requirements.

We are pleased to announce that we offer these physicals at our Burlington and Kenmore (Boston) locations.

A DOT physical can be completed in 40 minutes and is valid for up to 24 months. The exam includes:

Please note the examiner may issue a medical examiner’s certificate for less than 24 months when it may be appropriate to monitor a condition, such as high blood pressure. The exam fee is $85.

  1. I think it is a good thing that commercial drivers need a physical to make sure they can drive safely. If nothing else I think it will help them be aware of their health. Something that I think a lot more people should concern themselves with.
