Atrius Health was recently named by Becker’s Hospital Review, a leading healthcare industry publication, as one of the “100 Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to Know” in 2014. Atrius Health has managed the continuum of care for its patients in commercial, Medicare and Medicaid plans for decades.
“We are proud to be recognized for a second year as one of the nation’s leading ACOs. The Atrius Health clinicians and staff are dedicated to achieving the triple aim of increasing quality, improving patient experience, and reducing the cost of care, and they hold themselves accountable every day for providing care that aligns with those aims,” said Marci Sindell, Chief External Affairs Officer of Atrius Health. “We are strong believers that the ACO model of payment better supports our ability to provide the right care for our patients than the traditional fee-for-service model.”
In 2011, Atrius Health was selected as one of 32 healthcare organizations nationally to participate in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center’s Pioneer ACO program. As a Pioneer ACO, Atrius Health has taken a leadership role in the national conversation on changing cost, quality and the effectiveness of care. In the first year of the Pioneer ACO model, Atrius Health saw coordinated care improvements and a decrease in its internal cost trends over the year. Furthermore, Atrius Health’s quality scores were amongst the best nationally.
